Attorney Johnson earned earned his Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois in 1989. He went on to serve as Assistant Corporation Counsel in the City of Chicago’s Department of Law where he worked in Special Prosecutions, Building and Housing, and Municipal Prosecutions. He gained extensive experience in real estate law by litigating a wide range of real property cases. In 1995 he received the Special Services Award from the South East Chicago Commission.
He moved to the private sector 1996 and established his present practice in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Alexander Patrick Johnson is very active in the community. He is a member of the Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar, The Broward County Bar Association - Real Property Section. He also serves as a Pro Bono attorney for Broward Lawyers Care, and a pro bono attorney for Disaster Legal Services Program, through the the ABA, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the Florida Bar. He is also President of the Broward County Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union and Chair of the Affordable Housing Committee of the Broward County Chapter of the League of Women Voters.
